What is the source of your data?

TARGUSinfo is not a traditional single-source supplier, as are White Pages compilers and Directory Assistance providers. These databases have inherent weaknesses in accuracy, completeness and coverage.

We have relationships with hundreds of proprietary sources, including a unique membership in the US Telecommunications Network (USTN).

The USTN is the ultimate platform for up-to-date information on all phone numbers, including nonpublic and mobile phone numbers. By becoming a trusted member of the USTN, TARGUSinfo has built a foundation for data that is exceptionally accurate, relevant and actionable.


How often is your data updated?

Data for TARGUSinfo solutions is updated 10 times per day. Over the course of every month, our network is refreshed by hundreds of data sources.


Do you have access to mobile phone, VoIP and Direct Inward Dial (DID) data?

Yes, we have access to data on mobile, VoIP and DID phone numbers where available and our coverage leads the industry.

Our data repository includes hundreds of millions of current, verified mobile phone numbers linked to the names, addresses and other relevant information — allowing us to accurately verify your transactions that include mobile phone numbers.


What are the technical requirements for using the Manual Review Portal?

There is no technical integration required. You can access the Manual Review Portal through a Web-based interface, so all that's required is a computer with an Internet connection.


What different types of information can you deliver in addition to verifying the name, address and phone number?

Besides verifying the name, address, and phone number, we can also append a landline phone number when a mobile number is submitted. In addition, we also provide the following information where available:

  • Does the phone belong to a consumer or business?
  • Is it a landline or mobile phone number?
  • Is the phone in service?
  • How long has the number been in service?
  • Has the number been ported?
  • Is the phone located near the address?
  • Is the number registered on the Do Not Call list?

What are phone stability indicators?

Phone stability indicators refer to additional information on a phone number such as:

  • How long a phone number has been in service
  • Whether or not there has been a recent listing change in the phone number
  • Whether a landline phone number is located near the address

Can you provide results based on name and address as well as a phone number?

Yes, we can supply data for queries that begin with a name and address — or a name, address and phone number. If the information you provide appears incorrect, then we will append the correct information.


Why is the TARGUSinfo solution more effective than other verification tools?

Other verification tools do not verify the relationship between the pieces of information submitted. Additionally, other verification sources:

  • Lack mobile, VoIP and other nonpublic phone numbers
  • Provide far fewer addresses, as well as incomplete addresses
  • Are not updated as frequently

How can the TARGUSinfo solution complement AVS?

Since AVS only confirms pieces of address information with the credit card billing record, many companies also use On-Demand Verification to complement their verification efforts. Used in conjunction with AVS, On-Demand Verification provides a more thorough examination of contact information by confirming both the accuracy and correlation of all contact information.
