CALLER NAME SERVICES

Application Examples

Wireless Provider Easily Adds Depth To Service Offerings With Enhanced Call Detail for Billing

A leading wireless provider is inundated with customer complaints regarding unknown local and long-distance calls on their invoices. Because any plan overages could mean extra costs to subscribers, they are particularly vigilant in monitoring their bills.

Unfortunately, the wireless provider can only display the phone number for calls both made and received, so subscribers don't have access to the information they want.

The wireless company has realized that it can use TARGUSinfo Enhanced Call Detail to provide complete names and addresses for every call detailed on its subscribers' invoices.

Now the company expects subscriber dissatisfaction to plummet and to see a sizable reduction in calls to its customer care center.

Tier 1 Telecom Improves Bundled Services With Enhanced Call Detail For Interactive Address Books and Call Logs

A Tier 1 telecom is searching for new ways to improve its bundled service offerings in order to better attract and retain subscribers. The carrier realizes that it is overlooking an easy opportunity to increase the value of its services: simply providing name and address information where previously only phone numbers were delivered.

The telecom plans on using TARGUSinfo Enhanced Call Detail to add name and address information to subscribers' call logs. So now when subscribers access their call logs online, they will see the name and address of each person they've been in contact with — instead of a list of unknown phone numbers.

In addition, the telecom will use Enhanced Call Detail to power interactive address books for its subscribers. So instead of the call information lying unused in a call log, subscribers will be able to select contact information and add it to their address books.

The telecom expects the new service to be particularly productive for small and home businesses that rely on the call detail to build and manage their prospect and customer lists.

Multiple System Operator Delivers Caller Name Display To Any Communications Device, Including TVs and Mobile Phones

A Multiple System Operator (MSO) was trying to stay ahead of the competition by providing a "quadruple-play" of service offerings to its subscribers — landline, Internet, television and wireless.

But the MSO's traditional Caller Name Services provider could not support Caller ID on multiple devices. What's more, it was limited to the outdated 15-character display for names.

As a result, customers were growing to expect services for multiple devices but were only receiving Caller ID on one.

The MSO realized that with Caller Name Services from TARGUSinfo, it would have a single source of Caller ID that could be delivered to any communications device. And it could display the entire name, instead of a truncated version.

Now, the MSO is not only delivering Caller ID on its telecom devices, but it's also considering an even stickier bundled-service offering by providing it to subscribers' televisions, PDAs, PCs and potentially wireless devices.
