Dr. George Moore Receives Her Majesty’s, the Queen, CBE Award Announced by First Minister Dr. Ian Paisley

Washington, D.C. December 7, 2007 — As part of an historic program in which the First Minister of Northern Ireland, Dr. Ian Paisley, and Martin McGuinness, Deputy First Minister, jointly promoted Northern Ireland to US politicians and business leaders in New York and Washington DC, Dr. Paisley announced that Her Majesty, The Queen, recognized Dr. George Moore for his contribution to the Northern Ireland economy and for his international work on behalf of all of Ireland with an Honorary CBE – Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Dr. Paisley announced the award at a dinner of key business leaders in Washington DC after both he and Mr. McGuinness had launched a very successful business promotion program that included visits to the NYSE and the NASDAQ, presentations and meetings with Senator Edward Kennedy, Senator Hillary Clinton, and Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and which culminated in talks at the White House with President Bush.

Announcing the award to US business leaders, Dr. Paisley remarked: “I also want to say that we all owe a great deal of gratitude to Dr. George Moore, Chief Executive of TARGUSinfo and also Chairman of one of our oldest and most successful companies, Belleek Pottery. George has invested a lot of his time in getting us to this stage and was instrumental in making this visit happen.

“His contribution to our economy and to our international work was recently and deservedly recognized by Her Majesty the Queen by awarding George an Honorary CBE — Commander of the British Empire. George, on behalf of the Executive I want to congratulate and I want to give you my personal thanks for all your help and support.”

Dr. Moore remarked: “I am deeply honored by The Queen’s award … and I am delighted that I had the ability to promote US business development and investment in Northern Ireland. I am more delighted to witness this historic occasion where Dr. Paisley and Martin McGuinness are unified and aggressively promoting that Northern Ireland ‘is open for business.’ ”

Continuing a lighter note, Dr. Moore remarked: “In the 1970s, I was early in promoting cross-border cooperation between the North and the South when I married into N. Ireland — many friends say I married UP! — I certainly agree.”

Originally from Dundalk, Ireland, Dr. Moore received his MBA and PhD in the USA and built a number of successful companies in the IT sector in California and Washington DC. At TARGUSinfo, where he serves as CEO and Chairman, he has received numerous awards, including the "US Top 100 in Business: 1991-2006" from Irish America Magazine and "Outstanding Alumnus 1991 Award" from University College Dublin

Dr. Moore also serves on the board of a number of companies and is credited with the success of Belleek Pottery in N. Ireland, which employs 260 personnel and is recognized worldwide for its parian china. Dr. Moore has always promoted the business interests of all of Ireland in the USA. He is also a Board Member of the Irish Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Board.
