TARGUSinfo Donates On-Demand Information Services
to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children

VIENNA, Va. December 3, 2007 — TARGUSinfo is proud to donate its On-Demand InformationSM services to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) to assist law enforcement in missing and exploited children investigations.

Used by a majority of federal law enforcement agencies, TARGUSinfo services provide NCMEC’s case analysts with split-second access to accurate name, address and phone information online and in real time.

“Time is of the essence when assisting law enforcement on missing and exploited child cases,” said Bud Gaylord, Director of NCMEC’s Case Analysis and Support Division. “On-Demand Information services from TARGUSinfo provide our analysts with quick and easy access to information that can help save a child’s life.”

Approximately 800,000 children are reported missing in the United States each year, including runaways. Thankfully the vast majority of these children are recovered quickly. About 200,000 of the missing children are the victims of family abductions, and about 58,000 are the victims of non-family abductions.

“No one does more important work than the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and it’s our privilege to contribute to its effort,” said TARGUSinfo CEO George Moore.

In addition to serving child victims of abduction and exploitation, their families and law enforcement, NCMEC operates the National Emergency Child Locator Center during natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and the San Diego wildfires, where reliable phone, name and address information can help fractured families reconnect.

As a result of changes in legislation, collaboration of law enforcement agencies, the use of technology, increased awareness by the public, and the help of the media, NCMEC’s missing child recovery rate is more than 96% today, compared with 62% in 1990.
